A few years ago I was in Chile traveling from vineyard to vineyard. One of my most memorable experiences was at Emiliana.
Modern wine making can take on a very industrialized persona akin to an oil refinery. Emiliana had a different feel; like a working farm with Alpaca, chickens and mixed agriculture like olives and avocados. Most of their wines are certified organic and Biodynamic, I like to think of it like Naturopathic medicine for vines.
Their Winemaker’s series Chardonnay has a touch of Viognier and Marsanne indigenous to the Rhone valley. Viognier and Marsanne add layers of intrigue and complexity to the Chardonnay creating a wine of spectacular depth and texture.
Chop locations in Alberta feature the Emiliana Wine Maker’s Selection Chardonnay by the glass.
